“CBD oil is found in both marijuana and hemp. Although both plants are members of the Cannabis Sativa species, they are slightly different. Marijuana is known for the sense of euphoria or “high” that is caused by THC. Hemp, on the other hand, has more cannabinoids and is less likely to produce the same type of “high” as recreational marijuana. Although many people believe that CBD that is derived from hemp is legal in all 50 states, that isn’t necessarily true. There are a few states in which the laws surrounding CBD oil (from marijuana or hemp) are unclear.
In the states where CBD derived from marijuana is “legal with conditions”, there are stipulations as to how much THC can be present. In some cases, in order to purchase CBD oil derived from marijuana, the patient must be registered with the state or have been diagnosed with specific health conditions such as cancer, seizure disorder, epilepsy, or other neurological disorders.”
